What you DON'T pay

The Capital Recycle price is the price billed

Most national chains hide their real cost in a stack of admin fees. Here's the comparison.

✓ With Capital Recycle

  • Published price is the invoice price
  • No bin rental fee, ever
  • No environmental levy
  • No fuel surcharge
  • No "carbon offset" line item
  • No tape stickers — fit what you can, pay one flat per-lift price
  • Waste Transfer Note included
  • Pay per lift on bins, per job on ad-hoc

✗ The chains typically add

  • Bin rental £15–£25 per month
  • Environmental levy 8–12% on top
  • Fuel surcharge 5–10% on top
  • Carbon offset / sustainability fee
  • Admin or invoicing fee
  • Tape-sticker caps on cardboard / DMR bins — over the printed line, surcharge per lift
  • Unpublished "out-of-hours" surcharges
A 1100L bin twice a week with a national chain typically lands at £100 to £140 per week all-in (lift + rental + levy + fuel surcharge). With Capital Recycle, the same service runs £60 to £80 per week + VAT — and the published price is what you pay.
Pricing questions answered

Frequently asked questions

Is VAT included in your prices?
No. All listed prices are ex VAT. VAT at 20% is added on the invoice. Where we show an inc-VAT figure (typical for Wait & Load combined prices) it's clearly labelled.
What's the contract term on recurring services?
Two options on recurring bag and bin services. 12-month standard contract at the published per-lift rate, auto-renews for another 12 months unless you give 60 days notice before the renewal date. You can cancel earlier with notice — an early-termination fee applies, set out in your contract. We send a reminder 90 days before each renewal so you don't miss the window. 1-month rolling at +10% per lift, cancellable any month. One-off services (Wait & Load, pallet, clearance, Man and Van, fixed-price items) are pay-per-job — no contract.
Do you charge a bin rental fee?
No. Bins are delivered free and you pay per lift only. No monthly rental, no minimum hire period.
Do you add environmental levy, fuel surcharge or admin fees?
No. The published price is the invoiced price. The only standard surcharges are: out-of-hours on Wait & Load (+£100 + VAT), overweight bags above 5 kg (£0.25/kg), and specialist items (plasterboard, refrigerant fridges, WEEE, POPs) where the disposal route is genuinely more expensive — all flagged upfront.
What happens if my bin is overweight?
We tell you. Either upsize the bin (660L → 1100L) or add a lift to the schedule. We don't bill silent overweight surcharges. Most chain operators charge per overweight kilo without warning — often discovered only on the invoice.
Same-day collection — for real?
Yes, for bookings before 12:00 noon on a working day in central and West London. After noon, usually next-day depending on route fit. If the slot isn't available we tell you straight rather than promising and missing.
Do you offer evening, weekend or bank holiday collections?
Yes. Saturday, Sunday, bank holiday and weekday collections before 8am or after 6pm with 24 to 48 hours' notice. A flat +£100 + VAT surcharge applies on Wait & Load to cover crew overtime — same fee on Half or Full Load. For recurring weekend bag and bin collections, the surcharge is built into the contract rate at sign-up.
Can I change bin size or frequency mid-contract?
Yes. Upsize, downsize, add a lift, drop a lift — all change-of-service on a phone call. We don't penalise you for adjusting as your volume changes; that's exactly what businesses need their waste contractor to handle without bureaucracy.
Why no flat per-lift price published on bins?
Because the real number depends on bin size, lift frequency, and your postcode (route density). We'd rather quote your actual price within the hour than publish a misleading headline you'd then negotiate against. Floor prices: 240L £12, 360L £15, 660L £20, 1100L £24 per lift + VAT — then route-adjusted up.
How much does waste collection cost per month for a typical London café?
Depends on volume. A small café (1-2 bin bags per day) typically runs £80-£120/month on a bag service (~5 bags/day × 5 days × £1.85 = £46/week ex VAT). A busier sandwich shop (15-20 bags/day) often makes more sense on a 660L bin twice-weekly at ~£40 + VAT per week = ~£170/month. We'll quote both ways on a 5-minute call.
How do bag prices compare to bin prices for a small office?
For under 8-10 bags per collection, bag service is almost always cheaper. £1.85/bag means a 5-bag-per-week office pays ~£40/month. A 240L bin at £12/lift weekly is ~£52/month. Bags also win on flexibility — no fixed bin slot, you only order what you need from our in-house stock.
Are quotes negotiable for high-volume customers?
Yes. Anchor-tier bag rates (£1.85) and multi-bin rates already reflect volume discounts. Beyond that, 5+ bin schedules, multi-site accounts and 1100L-only setups have margin to flex on. Call us with your real volume — we'll quote the per-lift rate based on your route economics, not a generic price list.
Do you offer multi-bin or multi-site discounts?
Yes. 3+ bins on one site typically gets ~5% off per-lift rate. 5+ bins or multi-site (3+ sites) accounts get consolidated invoicing plus a further discount, negotiated on commitment. Adding sites mid-contract is a single-call quote process — no contract reset.
How much does Wait & Load cost compared to skip hire in London?
For most central-London jobs, less than a skip. A 6-yard skip in W1 or EC runs £350-£550 with permit (5-7 day permit lead time). Our Half Load is £160 + VAT, Full Load £320 + VAT — same-day, no permit needed because the cage van stays kerbside while we load. Skip wins only for genuinely large jobs that need to sit on-site for a week.
Can I get a fixed monthly fee instead of per-lift billing?
Possible for predictable-volume customers, normally on a 12-month commitment. Default is per-lift because it's fairer when volume changes. If you want budget certainty for finance forecasting, call us with your year's expected volume and we'll quote a fixed monthly equivalent.
What's the cheapest way to clear office furniture in London?
Depends on what's in the mix. For mostly office furniture (desks, filing cabinets, conference tables, shelving), our Office Clearance service applies Wait & Load Cage pricing: Half Load £160 or Full Load £320 + VAT per visit, multi-visit quotes for full strip-outs. For loads weighted in POPs items (sofas, upholstered chairs) or specialist items (fridges, cookers, mattresses), per-item Bulky pricing applies (£75 + VAT call-out + per-item rate from £25) — each item carries its own transfer-station disposal surcharge that flat load pricing can't absorb. We quote both ways on a 5-minute call and route you to the cheaper service honestly.
Can I pause my recurring service for a quiet month?
Yes — bag and bin contracts allow seasonal pauses with reasonable notice (typically 2-3 weeks). No reactivation fee. Tell us your closure dates at sign-up and we build them into the calendar. Ad-hoc pauses can be handled by phone. We don't penalise predictable downtime — it makes route planning easier.
Do I get a Waste Transfer Note with every collection?
Yes, every job, emailed same-day. Lands in your records before close of business. Required for landlord deposit returns, lease handbacks, ICO compliance and any FM-side audit. Annual aggregate WTN summaries available on request for B Corp or ISO 14001 audits — no extra charge for recurring accounts.
