Why plastic pallets are harder to get rid of
A wooden pallet has a second life as a pallet, then a third as chipboard or biomass. A plastic pallet has neither. The trader who collects wooden pallets free does so because they resell them; there is no resale market for a cracked nestable pallet, so the free offer stops at the plastic ones.
Plastic pallets also cannot go in with wood at the recycling end. They are a different material stream, which is why they cost £2 + VAT more a pallet than wood and why most pallet collectors leave them behind.

We charge £7 + VAT for each plastic pallet, any size, broken or intact, if you load them: the £5 + VAT pallet rate plus £2 + VAT for plastic.
£9 + VAT
Each plastic pallet, we load
We charge £9 + VAT a plastic pallet and the driver does the lifting.

Wooden pallets in the same load
Wooden pallets in the same load go at the wood rate: £5 + VAT each if you load, £7 + VAT if we do. One call-out covers the lot. Over fifty pallets, we quote from photos.
The £2 + VAT is per plastic pallet, because plastic goes down a separate recycling route. A mixed load pays it only on the plastic ones. Ten plastic pallets you load yourself is £145 + VAT; the same ten loaded by us is £165 + VAT. The published price is the invoiced price: no fuel surcharge, no environmental levy, no admin fee.
Plastic pallets vary in size and weight, so tell us the count and the type on the photo and the price is fixed before we come.
What we collect
Any plastic pallet: nestable or stackable, the rackable heavy-duty type, display pallets and half-size ones, broken or intact. Plastic pallets mixed into a wooden stack are fine; they travel in the same load.
Two things we leave behind. Plastic pool pallets marked as another company's property go back to that company, the same way blue wooden CHEP pallets do. And plastic crates and totes are not pallets; send a photo and we will quote them as a Wait and Load job instead.
Where plastic pallets go
Collected plastic pallets go to our licensed disposal partner to be processed. Across every stream we run, 98% of what we collect is diverted from landfill. Your waste transfer note shows the disposal route for your load.
We do not buy plastic pallets, and we do not pay for them. The price on this page is the collection.
One job, to show the pattern
Warehouse in Kent, TN postcode. The problem: around 100 broken pallets had filled a corner of the warehouse that was needed for stock, and it fills up again every six months. What we did: two loads over two days, then the same again half a year later when they rang back. The corner is working space again each time.
Those were wooden. Plastic pallets from the same kind of site go on the same load at £2 + VAT more a pallet: for 100 plastic pallets we would charge two call-outs plus £7 + VAT a pallet, £850 + VAT if you load them, £1,050 + VAT if we do.

Same day where the slot exists if booked before noon in EC, WC and W1; other postcodes typically next day. Out-of-hours and weekend +£100 + VAT.
3. Collection.
The caged tipper arrives. Load them yourself at £7 + VAT a pallet, or the driver does it at £9 + VAT.
4. Paperwork.
Waste transfer note in your inbox the same day. Pay by card or bank transfer.
Who this is for

No. We collect and recycle them; we do not pay for them.
Who buys plastic pallets near me?
Very few traders do, and only in volume and good condition. Some manufacturers take their own returnable pallets back; check the moulding for a company name first. For everything else, this page is the route.
Can plastic pallets be recycled?
The common HDPE and polypropylene grades can, and that is where ours go when the grade allows. Contaminated or mixed-material pallets go to energy recovery.
