What can you put in dry mixed recycling?

You can put clean, dry recyclables in dry mixed recycling: flattened cardboard, office paper, newspapers, magazines, envelopes, plastic bottles, plastic tubs and trays (rinsed), drinks cans, food tins, clean foil and foil trays. Keep out: food and food-soiled packaging, liquids, coffee cups, plastic film and carrier bags, polystyrene, crisp packets, tissues and paper towels, nappies, and glass. Glass needs its own bin. If in doubt, put it in general waste; one wrong item does less harm there than in the recycling. Lids can stay on bottles. Boxes should be flat so the bin holds a week's worth.
