A West End strip-out

What we did for a specialist studio builder.

A specialist studio builder was stripping out a West End building. The job had a lot of material to move and no room for a skip. The waste was mixed construction and demolition material, about a tonne a load.
The crew staged the waste on the pavement and loaded the cage each time our tipper arrived. We started with a trial day of two full loads. We then agreed two collection windows a day and ran two full loads a day at the peak, four days a week, about 30 full loads in all. We confirmed the times in writing.
Plasterboard and insulation were kept separate inside the cage and loaded last. Each load left with its own Waste Transfer Note and was invoiced per collection.

The job in three lines

  • Volume. About 30 full loads in all.
  • Schedule. Two loads a day at the peak, four days a week, inside two agreed windows.
  • Streams. Mixed strip-out waste, with plasterboard and insulation separate and loaded last.
Price

A full load is £330 + VAT and a half load is £165 + VAT.

Both include the Waste Transfer Note. Two collections in a day are two loads at the published price.

What a load includes

  • Full load, £330 + VAT. Up to 1,000 kg or a full cage, with 60 minutes of loading included.
  • Half load, £165 + VAT. Up to 500 kg or half a cage, with 30 minutes of loading included.
  • Plasterboard and insulation are charged separately. Tell us the volume when you book.
  • Repeat volume. Regular or block-booked loads can ask for a held account rate, fixed for 12 months. All published prices are on our pricing page.

Common questions

Questions strip-out contractors ask.

Can you collect two loads in one day?
Yes. Two full loads a day is a pattern we have run on a strip-out. Each load is booked and priced at the published rate.
Can collections fit the windows the site allows?
Tell us the windows when you book. A site with two windows a day can have a collection in each. We confirm the arrival window in writing before the collection.
Do you take plasterboard and insulation?
Yes, kept separate from the rest of the load, in its own pile or section of the cage, and loaded last. We do not collect plasterboard mixed through the general waste. It is charged separately because it follows a specialist disposal route.
What happens if asbestos turns up?
We do not collect asbestos or other hazardous waste. If it is found hidden in a load, we photograph it and bill the full specialist disposal cost back to you. Flag anything you are unsure about before we collect.
How much goes in one load?
A full load is up to 1,000 kg or a full cage. Dense material such as rubble reaches the weight limit before the cage looks full.
Do I get a Waste Transfer Note for each load?
Yes. Every collection comes with its own note, so each load on a multi-load day is documented for the site's records.
