Can I take commercial waste to the tip?

You cannot take commercial waste to a household recycling centre. Those sites are for residents' own waste, and staff turn away vans and anything that looks like trade waste. Some councils run a separate paid trade waste service at a tip or at a third-party transfer station, by weight or by load, and you need a waste carrier registration to carry your own business waste regularly. By the time you add the registration, the van, the fuel, the tipping charge and a morning off the job, a collection is usually cheaper. We collect general waste, recycling, cardboard and food from London businesses and issue a waste transfer note with every load.
