How do you dispose of WEEE?

You dispose of WEEE, waste electrical and electronic equipment, through a separate collection, because it cannot go in a general waste or recycling bin. Under the WEEE Regulations 2013 a business must have it collected separately and treated at an authorised facility, where it is stripped and anything hazardous is removed. Three routes: ask the supplier to take the old equipment back when you buy new, which producers must offer; book a registered waste carrier that routes WEEE to an authorised treatment facility; or a council trade waste service. Computers and phones also need their data wiped. We collect office IT and electricals as part of office clearances through a specialist ITAD partner, with a waste transfer note.
