What are the three types of waste bins?

The three types of waste bins are general waste, recycling and food waste. Those are the three streams England's Simpler Recycling rules require a workplace to keep separate, so a compliant business has at least one bin or sack for each. General waste takes what cannot be recycled; dry mixed recycling takes clean paper, card, plastic bottles and tubs, cans and tins; the food bin takes plate scrapings, prep waste and out-of-date stock, bagged inside a sealed container. Many businesses run a fourth bin for glass, because broken bottles spoil a recycling load, and a shop with a lot of boxes may add a cardboard-only bin. Colours vary by collector, so go by the label, not the lid.
