How do I dispose of used cooking oil?
You dispose of used cooking oil by letting it cool, pouring it into a sealed container and having it collected, never by pouring it down the drain. A kitchen that fries produces it by the drum, and licensed oil collectors take it free or for a small fee because it is refined into biodiesel; the collection comes with a waste transfer note like any other stream. Oil in the drain sets in the pipes and causes the blockages water companies fine businesses for, and oil in the general waste bin leaks and contaminates the load. The List of Waste code is 20 01 25, edible oil and fat.
